Hi, Yip. Its that time again... News letter. The other day I visited Boet and he was on my case about getting another newsletter out. Well, here it is. Thanks to Boet! Happy New Year (yes I know one twelfth of the year has already passed.) I pray that the year 2004 will be the year that the Lord Jesus will have his way more and more in your life. I pray that you will get to know so much more of His grace, compassion and love. Straight up! I hope this year will be a truly blessed year for you. I had a whole bunch of 'ups' and 'downs' in this last month... Luckily I remember the quote "being victorious doesn't depend on how you feel but on what you know!" Although lots of thing did not go according to my plans... I know that God is still in charge of everything and that He is looking out for the apple of His eye. My plans to go to Durban to speak to people from an radio station there didn't materialize. My visa application took a bit longer that I expected. My plans to go past the Netherlands on my way to the Ukraine didn't work out. At the end of the day I can just trust the Lord that He will have His way (without being complacent.) There were a whole bunch of 'ups' that I can praise the Lord for. My mother went for a check up at Groot Schuur Hospital, and the doctors are all happy. And of course - so are we! I got my plane ticket to Kiev for a good price. Thanks to Anne at Travelwise in Cape Town. If you have a need to travel somewhere. She is the Girl to know. Anne Lotz - travelwisesa@galileosa.co.za I got a chance to speak to a church in Grabow near Cape Town about the Radio Station. It was great how the Lord just gave me the words to speak and I could even just encourage them in there own calling and ministries too. I read a piece in one of Spurgen's books and thought it would be great to mention it in my letter: "Traveling one day by express from Perth to Edinburgh, on a sudden we came to a dead stop, because a very small screw in one of the engines had been broken, and when we started again we were obligated to crawl along with one piston rod at work instead of two. "Only a small screw was gone; if it had been right - the train would have rushed along its iron road, but the absence of that insignificant piece of iron disarranged the whole. "A train is said to have been stopped on one of the United States' railways by flies in the grease boxes of the carriage wheels. "The analogy is perfect; a man in all other respects fitted to be useful, may by some small defect be exceedingly hindered, or even rendered utterly useless" How many times do we have one tiny little sin that seemingly does not harm anyone, and that nobody knows about? How many times are there the slightest of bad feelings in our hearts? Or even just a little friction between friends and family? What about that one little thing I didn't do or mention? "I told the truth the other day, but I just didn't tell the whole truth." I've seen it so many times in my life, that a little thing creeps in... and WHAM! Before I know it, it becomes a big thing standing between me and God. We are told to keep short accounts with the Lord. Deal with it before it becomes an issue. The bible also says we should walk in the light (1 John 1:7, 2:9) We should walk in truth. Every thing we think, do and say should be of such a nature that we can do, think or say it in front of any body, and everybody! I'm off to the Ukraine again. I got a ticket for the 15th Feb. I have applied for a six month visa, which I will be able to extend for another six months without having to come all the way back. For the first couple of months I will get a flat and stay in Reni. I might later have to move to a town called Karmenskeie. That is where the Radio tower is located. I'm not 100% sure on this... I just take it as it comes. Thanks for all your love, prayers, and support. May the Lord bless you. Al the Pote
